Do you think that the new iMac Pro is a huge ripoff?

Absolutely not. The thing isn’t for gaming. You don’t need 8, 10, or 18 cores for gaming, and you also don’t need anywhere near the other specs. Plus, I would like to draw serious question to your gaming computer costing half of that having better specs in literally any area. Also, no, just because you have two GPUs doesn’t mean it has better specs. It means it has more graphics power. However, for professional tasks, you could need anything from loads of cores to loads of memory to loads of single threaded power, in which case this wouldn’t actually be a good option.

Also, one last thing. Let’s do a price breakdown of an equivalent computer. Notes: I had to approximate on the GPU price by using current generation hardware(which means this likely underestimates the actual cost), there is no commercially available RAM at the speeds apple is using(with ECC), and we don’t know what CPU they are using.

Now, if we look at this, it seems like the base $5000 model is a rip-off. However, you also have to consider that there is a construction cost that you cover in this scenario but Apple covers otherwise. There is also the fact that Apple put a huge amount of engineering into this thing in order to be able to cool that hardware in an iMac, which is much smaller than an H440, and that is mostly what you’re paying for. The engineering, and the fact that Apple assembled it for you in one, ready to go package. Comparing a full size PC and an AIO in price is ridiculous, because they are fundamentally different devices. Special Offer:
